Lonely Planet has a children’s series covering some of the most visited cities in the world. London is one of them.
Although the book is categorized as “kids,” we found it very useful for our family trip.
It’s a helpful guide filled with photos and illustrations, just like the rest of the Lonely Planet City Trails series.
Before the trip, children can choose the places that interest them, which helps us understand what matters most to them.
Of course, the book is also great for adults who enjoy fun-facts. Where else would we learn that when the skyscraper The Shard was being built, a fox managed to climb up to the 72nd floor and stayed there for weeks before being discovered?
Before every trip, I usually search for fun facts for kids about the destination and end up finding the most unexpected information. It’s nice to keep that childlike perspective.
P.S. The London book is no longer available on the official Lonely Planet website, but it can still be found elsewhere.
